Underrated Gems: 8 Products That Deserve More Love

Who doesn’t love an underrated beauty gem? It’s like having a little secret that Tik Tok hasn’t discovered yet. I definitely have more than this list, but thought I’d keep it at lucky number eight for this post. Let me know in the comments if you’re also in on the secret with any of these products!

Tower 28 JuiceBalm Lip Balm

There are so many viral T28 lip products (lookin’ at you, milky lip gloss!), but this balm is not talked about nearly enough. It’s pigmented, but has a dewy sheen. It gives hydration, but is never sticky. It’s all the things you love about a good lip balm in stick form.

Makeup Revolution Balm Glow

I bought this on a whim because it looked cute (and was $8 hello) and WOW was I impressed! It blends like a dream and dries down, so it doesn’t leave my cheeks sticky. It gave me just a bit of flush and it can be used on your lips and eyelids for a chic monochrome look.

Shu Uemera Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil

I’ve been using this exact eyebrow pencil since Pixiwoo told me to in 2014. The hard formula helps give me more control and I love this gray/brown color which is the best match for my (light) brows. Plus…it’s lasted me ten years, so it’s a bang for your buck.

Milani Color Fetish Balm Lipstick

Another drugstore steal, but don’t let the $11 price fool you. This pigment packs a PUNCH and goes on so glossy and shiny. We also have to chat about the textured packaging, which feels levels above drugstore. I wear the shade Fantasy and not only does it look great when I first apply, but it fades into a great stain throughout the day making it seamless and easy, in my humble opinion.

Supergoop! (Re)setting 100% Mineral Powder SPF 35

HOPEFULLY you are wearing your SPF everyday - but have you ever been at a loss for how to reapply it throughout the day, especially if you wear makeup? Enter this gem: powder sunscreen by Supergoop!. The built in brush makes this a breeze for travel so you can take your sun protection with you on the go. So now you have no excuses!

Glossier Wowder

Speaking of powders, why aren’t we all still talking about Glossier’s Wowder?! I know there are a lot of loose powders on the market, but this one still reigns supreme in my heart. It mattifies my oily areas while feeling LIGHT and airy. It also lasts longer than other powders I’ve tried, which means I don’t need to re-powder constantly. I do have to take a few points off for their lack of shades, but hopefully since they’ve come out with a foundation, they’ll revisit this powder too!

Colourpop Lippie Stix

Another lucky $8 gem for you! These matte lipsticks are SO COMFORTABLE, I couldn’t believe it the first time I tried them. I also couldn’t believe how much pigment they had, so you do not need to use a huge amount to get your payoff. I also have to say that these lasted through chatting and eating - they are relatively transfer proof in my experience (and I chat a LOT).

Trader Joe’s Head to Toe Balm

This one may not be available depending on your location and your particular neighborhood TJ’s, but I bought this during a recent grocery run when I was desperate for some relief from my dry knuckles and cuticles. This is really a one-stop shop for moisturization - it’s perfect for the lips, the elbows, the hands, you name it. I have it by my desk for all day relief and let me tell you, Joe is there for me like a dream.
