Review Corner: Tower 28 Swipe Serum Concealer

Let’s be real before we even dive into this—I love Tower 28. I love the name, I love the marketing, I love the products, and I love their emphasis on being kind to sensitive skin. So to say I went into this review with high expectations would be an understatement.

After their super successful launch of their SunnyDays Tinted Sunscreen, I was beyond excited to see them add a concealer into their product line. The first shade I got was too light for me (my fault since I purchased SO FAST that I didn’t pay attention), but once I picked up the Swipe Serum Concealer in the shade CC, I was ready to roll.

She’s a stunner.

My very first impression was how much it reminded me of my current holy grail concealer, Kosas Revealer Concealer. And that is not a bad thing! The little makeup scientist in me was curious about my hypothesis so I did a quick comparison.

My two best friends.

And they do have their differences. One being the doe foot applicator: The Tower 28 applicator is slightly thinner while the Kosas one has a bit more girth (ew sorry). The T28 bottle itself is also longer and slimmer, so it makes sense that the applicator would match this vibe.

In case you’re a “I want to see the doe foot rrrrreal up close” kind of person.

I also did a quick swatch test and while they both are amazingly creamy (which is why my dry AF under eyes love these types of concealers), the T28 seems a little thicker in its consistency and has a bit more opacity, which may also explain why it has a tad more coverage once it’s blended out. They are both absolutely seamless when it comes to blending!

There is also the price difference: T28’s concealer is $22 for 0.22 fl oz and the Kosas concealer is $30 for .20 fl oz. Both concealers have amazing skincare benefit ingredients, so it may come down to which ones work better for your particular skin.

Ok, lab time is over! Let’s get back to the actual performance of the T28 concealer.

We’ve already determined that it offers medium coverage with a creamy consistency and fantastic blending abilities, but the before and after photos are really where you can see its magic:

Not only did the concealer help brighten up my under eyes, but it also helped even out my skin tone (which was dealing with a minor rosacea flare up).

Here are a few more shots in DIRECT SUNLIGHT* with no filter obvi for a better glimpse at how seamlessly this stuff sinks in without looking like I’m wearing heavy concealer.

Let’s just say it’s instant love. I do feel like there’s a place in my collection for both the Kosas and T28 concealers since they offer up different looks and benefits. I personally love that there are such similar options on the market because it means the quality is SO HIGH—we’re spoiled by great options. Plus, we have more choices when it comes to which ingredients our skin prefers and the ever-important task of shade matching.

Pros:

  • I mean, look with your eyeballs! I look youthful, radiant, and like I have hopes and dreams.

  • Ingredients like Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract which helps soothes skin and Lysine which helps the production of collagen.

  • Safe for sensitive skin and won’t clog pores.

  • Sustainable packaging (made from 50% post-consumer recycled plastic).

Cons:

  • Did crease slightly under the eyes when I didn’t set with powder.

More FAQs:

  • Price: $22.00

  • Where to buy: Tower 28; Sephora; Credo

  • Who is it for?: Anyone looking for a medium coverage concealer while still being lightweight and skin-like! It’s also a great choice if you have sensitive skin.
